How do I play Star Citizen?

You need an account and a Game Package to play the alpha of Star Citizen

Once you have created your account you will be able to pledge for game packages, add ships and install the game to play.

1. Create an account
2. Purchase a Game Package (Starter Pack)
3. Download the game

A Game Package contains a digital download of Star Citizen, a ship, and other items for your account. Look out for special offers on Starter Packs.

In addition there are also packages that include the Squadron 42 single player game (also currently in development).

Important information for new backers

• You only need to buy the cheapest starter pack to play the game
• You can rent and purchase additional ships in game for UEC.
• Existing backers have access to a wide range of flyable ships and are more than happy to take you on a tour. Ask in the in game chat if there is something specific you would like to see or test out yourself.
• Persistence is working for UEC earned in game and in game purchased items and ships. However, as this is an alpha, these can be reset at anytime.
• The game is in alpha. Stability and bugs can be an issue.
